Project Description

Stanfield Nursing Home in Worcester is expanding its dementia care support following the approval of plans for the addition of seven specialist care bedrooms. The 260sqm extension will include seven ‘dementia friendly’ bedrooms – complete with en-suite bathrooms - as well as providing a community break-out space for residents and additional ancillary support rooms.

Architecture and building services have worked together to create a low energy design, with a thermally enhanced building envelope and sustainable building services systems to reduce energy usage and operating costs. The breakout space will also be naturally ventilated, benefitting from solar powered roof lights.

A feature oak and glazed façade will not only complement the Georgian style of the main house but will also create a light and airy activity space that is welcoming to residents.
